Another office remodel question.

I have 2 bathrooms in this office remodel. The back bathroom will have a shower. You can't see the shower from the door or the vanity. So I chose to save $60. by buying the shower fixtures in chrome instead of nickel. (Hitting myself on the side of the head).

The office door hinges and levers are going to be nickel, so I ordered the bathroom faucets in nickel.

Should I send the vanity faucet back and do this bathroom (vanity faucets, shower faucet, and cabinet hardware) entirely in chrome?

I know you can mix metals...I did it in this house. But when I put a glass door on the shower, should the metal be nickel or chrome if it's mixed?

Sorry for such an inane question. I've lost brain cells over this remodel.

You don't say whether the nickel finish will be polished or satin (brushed).

If it was my house I'd make the other items chrome and save some money. Just be sure that everything is either polished or satin (brushed) consistently throughout.

Most people - not the decor obsessed - see the following kinds of metal:

Silvery colored
Brassy colored
Coppery colored
Brown colored (oil rubbed bronze)
Black iron colored

(and the tarnished and rusty versions of the above)

They don't distinguish chrome from nickle from stainless and won't be able to tell the difference in the bathroom. It's all 'silvery shiny" to them.

It's brushed nickel Virgil. I think I will take your advice and exchange the faucet for chrome and do the rest of that bath in chrome., including the shower door hinges all to match the shower fixtures. Thank you.

Lazy gardens--that was my thinking exactly. Until I started thinking about the shower door hinges being a different finish than the shower faucets inside the shower. Ughhhh. That's when the thought starting niggling away. Thank you :-)
