It made me giggle just a bit at the irony of
"missingtheobvious"
finding the designer written on the original plan.

(still snickering).

There is no compelling reason to think the house was designed by an architect or that someone other than plan company owns the copyright.

The design appears to be derived from an historic Tidewater South set of features and the plan is not very unusual so why not hire a local architect to design it the way you want it or buy a set of plans and have someone modify it or have the plan company modify it?

The example below is a better use of the story and a half configuration because it has more floor space and better windows on the upper level.
