We are rebuilding our house after a fire, we got the quote on the exact same Andersen 400s. They are half again what they cost just 5 years ago! The increases we are seeing on other things are no where no where near this high, what is going on? Same dealer...same windows.

Andersen make two kinds of 400 series windows. Be sure you are talking about the same windows.

The guy said he ordered the exact same windows.

I never trust an order I have not reviewed. I doubt the change is entirely due to the manufacturer. A 50% increase would probably put these windows in competition with extruded aluminum clad windows. Try a another Andersen supplier or an extruded aluminum clad window.

B.s. msrp may have increased not windows. Get quote from five dealers. There are a lot better windows one could have for a lot less than that.

shifrbv, your response is confusing and actually asks more questions than is answers. What do you mean?

I don't know what the Andersen price increase was for 2012 but for 2011 it was 3.5% and for 2010 there was no increase. The most it could have increased is probably 15% so you need to start looking for a reputable supplier.
