I called my utility company and got a rather accurate quote. We won't build for at least a year, so I will figure some inflafion. They offered to meet ms at the site, but I said I just needed an estimate at this point. For what it is worth, we have water at one building spot, and just need to pay the bill every month, or face a $5,000 rehookup fee, and a spot 1/4 mile from that line that we were considering was going to be more than 10K for the water. With septic, county water, and electricity (no natural gas...too far out $$$$) we are at about 12K on one spot or 30K on another spot 1/4 mile away.
My guess it that you may be having a private person run these lines? But then you will be responsible for any failure in these lines, rather than the utility/phone company etc. You really need to just call these companies and getmore accurate figures. You need to know if you have already spent 10K or 60K before you have moved dirt for your foundation. Someone in Nebraska or even just a county over is going to have cpletely different figures. Also call your building permit office and find out if you are going to owe them a grand or many grand. Some people on here have a good 10K just to county for various fees. We also have a $50 fee for determining our driveway/assigning address ... I assume this is much cheaper than others...this fee came from county roads, as we are on county roads :)
