About to start bldg. - How to pack house? Storage unit, POD, etc?

Although I'm very experienced at buying/selling and moving, we've never built a house until now. So excited! However, this has all happened quickly and I have to be out of my current house in 3 weeks. (Yikes! No packing has even been started...) Anyway, I would love to hear how you decided what went in storage or Pod, what NOT to put in storage, and how to pack for for a rental while we build. It's overwhelming to find a place for everything for the next 8 months! Thanks!

For rental:

--Keep what you might need for staging in case your closing doesn't go thru & you need to keep your present house on the market.

--Keep anything you might need to help you determine colors for paint (rugs, upholstered furniture, bedspreads, etc.)

--Keep things with drawers for storage (large chests, small chests to use as end tables in rental, etc.)

--Delicate things, things you treasure.
