radiant heat vs baseboard

We are putting radiant heat under almost all our tiled floors (kitchen foyer, and basement). Now I am debating putting radiant under the whole house vs baseboard. What are your opinions? Is it truly better or are there downsides to radiant heat under hardwood floors? Thanks as always.

What do you mean by baseboard? Hydronic or electric? Are the floors hydronic or electric? What climate and are you planning a heat pump?

Hydronic. We are in the northeast.

You can't beat warm floors! That said, I did go in a house our contractor showed us that had wood floors over hydronic, and I didn't like the way my socks caught on the little gaps that opened up between the boards. He said it was because of the species of wood the owners had chosen and that too much of it was flat-grained, so it had to move seasonally, but it kind of put us off using wood (we were set on hydronic).
