Aluminum and glass garage door in cold climates

Hi, all. We are almost framed out and getting ready to choose our garage door. As the design/building process has gone on our rustic contemporary aesthetic has been leaning more and more towards the contemporary. We are considering abandoning the faux carriage door look and going with a contemporary aluminum and frosted glass garage door. We have a clear coated galvalume roof, so the materials would tie together nicely. My question is, would this be a mistake in Ohio? We can have some pretty brutal winters. There is no living space above the garage, and the garage will be used for nothing (NOTHING!- can you tell I feel passionately about this- LOL) other than parking cars.
Thanks!
