Building a Home

An App for 3D house plans?

Hello,
I'm getting ready to re-build my cottage and I am trying to pick a floor plan from the thousands of plans available.
What I would like to know is, Is there an app I can get that will take a floor plan and convert it to a 3D version so I can get a better idea of what a plan will end up looking like once built?

It's called an architect. You are over estimating gadgetry and under estimating the need for the experience and knowledge behind the gadgetry.

Google for sketchup. Its free and so good that architects use it. Spend a few hours learning how it works then you can quickly model any plan you find.

SketchUp was originally developed by @ Last Software of Boulder CO in 2000. It was bought by Google in 2006 and bought by Trimble Navigation in 2012.

I've owned and used it since 2002. Its by far the best 3D sketching tool and the basic version its free but you have to tell it what you want like any other professional design tool.
