I think the wood tile is a smart choice for dogs of that size. Wood floors with satin or matte finishes, medium color and scraping tend to hide scratches as best they can. LVT in wood look might be worth a look for you too. It is vinyl which is a turn off for some but the function against dog nails is hard to beat. Good luck! shiltsy-we have a distressed hickory (it was prefinished not site finished if that matters) and so far it's handled our 2 boys and 75 pound golden doodle without issue-3 months in only though. She is 7 and not really hyper but she does like to mix it up with the boys from time to time. We have it throughout the living, dining and kitchen.

BUT - I am of the mind that it's distressed so if it gets more distressing from life then so be it. Before we dared put it in we made that decision that it would not be perfect and we were not going to fret over it - or at least I am not. It's not a shiny gloss finish, it's satin.

I love hickory floors but had no idea they held up well. Good to know!

(I'm no help to the OP, but I'll say one of the reason we still have carpet is because of our dog).

In addition to extra-durable wood, you might want to strategically place washable throw rugs. Not only will this protect your floor, but it will also protect your dog from slipping and falling. I'd have to think the hand-scraping and/or distressed finish would also help in this regard.
