Interior paint

We are about ready to sign a contract with a builder. His contract states that they use flat latex paint as standard and there is an upcharge for anything else. (We will be asking him what the upcharge is.) My only experience with interior paint is eggshell - as that is what I have always used. Is it worth an upcharge to get eggshell, or is flat acceptable? Thanks!

Depends on what you want and like.

I do not want or like flat paint, so I would pay the upcharge (or do all the painting myself!).

Flat with trim being satin or egg shell. Flat is very forgiving when you have to touch up for any reason.....and you will have to touch up a new build.
