Are Old Virginia sand mold bricks severe weather resilient?

If we can find a trucker to pick up our brick and deliver it to us we intend to have the mason start laying our brick very soon. It just now came to my attention that not all brick is severe weather proof and, being in NE Ohio, I now worry this brick may not be. Anyone know? Also, are the properties of mortar made with river sand different than regular mortar? Is it ok for our weather?

What is the codes in your area, also what does the seller of the bricks say. If bought out of area, can you talk to a person in your area selling bricks?
