Suggestions wanted for siding materials

Howdy!

Our elevations are completed and I love them! In an effort to save money on both construction and taxes, I want to *try* to do the exterior siding in a combination of 65-70% brick, and 30-35% siding or imitation shake shingles.

I'd just love it if you masters of design would weigh in with how I could accomplish that.

Here's a look (it's a revamped version of Abberley Lane):

This has a rather classic Georgian architectural style about it, at least on the front elevation, which is rather formal and reasonably symmetrical. If it was my design, I'd use: 1) all brick; 2) all cement plaster; 3) a carefully studied combination of brick and cement plaster.

Weather and exterior conditions have a lot to do with exterior finishes, so is weather an issue where you live?

IMO, it really doesn't have the bones or proportions of a Shingle Style house, and I don't think shingles are a "natural" finish for the design. Just my milage, other's milage may vary.

It's so beautiful in brick, I'm not sure why you'd want to add another material. If you can afford all brick, go for it.
