Me again - cottage from a kit?

Hi all,

Still on the cottage hunt with the inlaws. We're circling around to building again just because so little is coming up to buy. In the area we would build, a lot of people are using local builders who do most of their business with Beaver Homes kits.

Here's an example of a kit they sell.

Here's an example of the turnkey costs and standard materials used in the build.

What do you think? If you're Canadian, have you ever been inside a Beaver Home? It's all new to me, but it's attractive from a distance and they seem to be quite popular. The advantage to me is basically not having to micromanage things and a certain amount of predictability in the build, plus that the local builders are familiar with the paradigm. We would anticipate about 15-20% overage for nicer finishes and "surprises" (surprise, I want a big deck) then also adding in land, excavation, driveway, septic, shed, dock and well cost.

PS this is more like the dream, but quite out of reach.
