A rare sunny day in Valdez, AK & progress pic

We are plugging along. Of course it would be an unusually rainy summer (following an unusually snowy winter even for Valdez!) when we decide to finally build!

I went outside to check on progress and saw the sun shining through the ever-present clouds and just had to take a pic.

The 2nd story walls are finally all framed in. The trusses are going up this weekend.

It was so surreal when I took a tour of the upstairs...finally standing in the middle of our dream of almost 35 years!

Amazing shot of the house with the mountain in the background! It is so exciting seeing what had only been on paper until now. CONGRATS!!!

What's funny is I couldn't see what I was framing since the sun was so bright. The mountains go all the way from east to west plus we have mountains on the other side with 2 waterfalls.

When the sun is out we forget the harsh winter we just came through...that mountain you see is usually all green.
