Need your referrals for Builders Risk Insurance

I've been following some of the threads here on Builders Risk. I've noticed the prices some of y'all are getting are WAAAAY better what we've been quoted.

We have a build budget of about $450K not including land. Our quotes range from $1800-$2600. This is for a 9-month timeline.

For those of you who have recently obtained builders risk, would you mind passing on the contact person you worked with? I'd like to get that expense down a bit if possible.

Hi there! We are in California (not sure where you are) but our course of construction/builders risk insurance was only $1,100. We worked with Pete Bozanich with Farmers Insurance (661) 833-1988.

We went with Allstate - they offered a policy that is effectively your homeowners and acts as Builder Risk during construction and then converts - comes with $500K liability - for our $800K build the cost was under $900 - it insures for all loss once the materials are installed - the builders insurance covers us if the materials are on site yet not installed
