I am looking for advice on the rear entrance to my house. My situation is a little different in that we are building a two story home but the top floor is the main living quarters. We live and work in the same place. The bottom floor will be what we consider a walk out. The kids rec room will be in the "walkout" portion of the house. However, the back will be exposed not graded in. The lower entrance will be used to access the rooms designated for the business storage ect. If you were coming to my house as a guest you would need to go up one level as you are entering from the road side. The other side faces the lake.

Everything my builder and I design for a stair case to the second floor looks like a fire escape. Help Please!
