Garage / Pool House Combo

HI All -- new to forum and starting a new custom home construction at the central jersey shore. Our new home will have a detached garage and we are looking at a garage/pool house combo (due to limitations on number of buildings on our lot). We are looking at a 24 feet wide by 22 Feet long garage. Part Garage and Part Pool House (with 1/2 bathroom). How would you divide? I was thinking:

1. 14' x 22' of garage
2. 10' x 22' of poolhouse

Poolhouse would subsequently be divided:

1. 10' x 8' bathroom (withroom for changing)
2. 10' x 12' room for refrigerator, storage of pool stuff, hanging tv.

I'd appreciate thoughts on sizing and division of the house. Thanks! V

8 x 10 is awfully big for a bathroom, even with a changing area. I would want more of this space dedicated to the hang -out room.

A typical Full bath used to be 5 x 7(still can be, it's just that everything's gotten so big) . You should be able to have plenty of room in 5x10 for a 3/4 bathroom (I think a shower would be a good idea) and area to change.

Post the floorplan to show the actual division of space.

It's hard to say without seeing it, how to apportion the space.

palimpset -- thanks for the feedback. I agree, it would be best to have more for the hang out room and you're giving me a good perspective. I am now updating plans with builder and will post once avaiable.

Regarding theshower -- we're doing an outside shower. Am not planning on winterizing the garage so am worried that adding an indoor shower could be tough. Thoughts there?
