Builders in Colubus, Ohio

Hi guys,

I am looking to build my house in Lewis Center, Ohio next year and currently in the process of finding a builder. My budget is $450,000 for a 3800 house (about $120 per sq ft including the land). I am not sure if that is possible. I contacted a few contractors/builders and they all said the average cost is $150-$200 per sq ft excluding the lot. Anyone has recommendation for affordable builders/contractors? I heard Amish builders are typically more affordable with great quality work. Anyone has built with an Amish builder before? Thanks!

I have and I highly recommend them. Mine saved us about $100,000 and we got higher quality finishes. The only problem is where you're building. I live between Mt Vernon and Utica on rural acreage. I'm right in Amish country, but even then, my builder and his crew came from Millersburg. They were bused in by a driver. They were always on the site by 6:00 am, so they had to leave home around 5:00 am. I don't know if they would travel all the way to Lewis Center, but if you want my builder's name to contact, send me an email. He's very highly in demand and builds in all price ranges. so he does have a waiting list of clients. He does not advertize and nearly all of his clients are by reference from former clients who have built with him. This house is probably my forever house, but if I ever build again, I won't even call anyone else. He's that good and has a reputation in this area for quality work and fair prices. Good Amish builders are not necessarily "cheap", but they are fair with pricing and there is little to no waste of materials. How soon are you planning to build?
