Windows with White Interior - What do you recommend?

Help! I am thoroughly confused on which windows to pick for our new home. We want to have white interior windows with white trim. I have a hard time paying money for wood interior and then having it painted and I've also dealt with rotten wood windows in our previous homes. But I haven't heard many good things about vinyl. And then there is fiberglass. Any advice as to which type and brand is our best option? We are already pushing our budget, but don't want to skimp on the quality of our windows. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I wanted wood windows so I could paint them the color white I liked :). We went with Marvin double hung windows. Wood inside, aluminum clad exterior, SDL with 6 over 1, and screens only on the lower sash (so the exterior grilles wouldnt be obscured behind screening). It fit the style of our house.

There is a window forum and if you have an idea of your budge and needs, they may have some suggestions for you. Windows are often an "easy" place to skimp but they are one of the more expensive things to upgrade later. You can always add hardwood to a room that was initially carpeted, or change a kitchen from vinyl flooring to something else. And you can do that one room at a time. But windows are pricey and changing them later is really disruptive (to your siding and trim, too).

One last thought ... If your house has a porch, consider the outside appearance of the windows up close.

We chose Kolbe & Kolbe wood/aluminum clad windows. The quality of the window is as good if not better than Marvins comparing apples to apples.
The price was a smidge more than half of our quotes for Marvins. We did choose Marvin Integrity (fiberglass) for two windows in our shower/bath as the fiberglass inside was needed for moisture. The price for these windows was the same for the Kolbe. Our Kolbe windows are beautiful, see my post on the windows forum, We have SDL on the Kolbe, well worth the price in my opinion, The Integrity has grills between the glass, not as nice a look. See back of my house 2nd floor. ant post a link sorry.

Thanks so much for your suggestions! We were looking at Marvin Integrity (we live in MN and that seems to be the most popular around here), but I'll add Kolbe & Kolbe to the list.
