I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how you are doing!! Although tinged with sadness because you had to do it alone, your build process is imprinted in my brain because it CAN be a good experience. I've also saved your floor plan for inspiration and when/if the day comes that we build it will be a combination of ideas from homes seen here that get rolled into something that will work for us.

That is exciting Phoggie. I have wondered about that on here with so many house plans if the posted plans done by professionals are copyrighted. Hmm my librarian education always makes me question that.

We did finally find a buyer for our home and have the appraisal in the morning. We have the house mostly cleared out and I will officially become an Iowan on August 29. Ah. We will live in my husbands grandpas house and the Amish community is just a stones throw away. The horse pasture is right across from us and my two year old is already crazy about them.

Iowa... My plans are not "professional"...just something that someone on the Small Houses forum sketched for me...I added some, changed some, took it have it printed off and my builder tacked it up on a piece of board and built it! My DH was a "professional architect" and he would have shutterd to see what my contractor was using to build from..LOL...he always had rolls of blue prints....which I think might have intimated my Amish builder.
