What color stain on mahogany door?

I'm looking for pictures of stained mahogany doors. It's a solid three panel door with white sidelights and transom above. He put English Chestnut and Early American on the side but I'm not sure that gives me enough to make a decision by. Anyone have pictures of their mahogany door stained? Also, I think mahogany is darker (and maybe more red) than I want.

If it's true mahogany, no stain at all is needed. It would obscure the beautiful grain. Look at pictures of antique Chris Craft boats if you want to see some beautiful wood in it's natural state. If it's luan, it won't matter what you do to it.

This was our door unstained.

Agree, it's very pretty unstained. We stained it with sikkens Cetol 1 2&3 in dark oak so that it would match with our cedar beams and garage doors.

What color stain did you use on the cedar, and front door? I do like it it is not so red or so dark on the post!
