Need to pick roof color...

We are in the process of picking out our roof color and I can't make up my mind. We know we want a medium light tan (wicker) color siding with black shutters. I have narrowed it down the GAF architectural shingles in weathered wood or pewter grey. Does a pewter grey roof look okay with the tan siding? I like the look of a black roof, but want to stay away from because it will make the house hotter.

you've probably done this already, but here's a pic that came up in an image search for grey house tan siding :) and i think it's very pretty. that said, i prefer mixing neutrals/cools/warms... i'm not a layered tan on tan on tan kinda girl. there are also lots of pictures of tan siding with black shutters with lots of different roof colors.

i think that gray will look fine. weathered wood is a great choice.
