The way it is set up with our bank is that the draws that are for items the GC paid for have checks made out directly to him, if we pay for something ourselves and request a draw then we get a check in our name.

That makes sense. I don't think we can take draws ourselves with this set up but our contract with the GC says he will reimburse us for anything we buy that was supposed to be covered under the contract.

I think it is normal to have them go directly to your GC. You sign off on the draw in advance, why would you need to go to the bank with him when he cashes the check?

Bank will probably want the lien waivers, but double-check. Very important documentation.
