We are meeting with the draftsman tomorrow. The house now has a bath with shower in the bonus room. We are thinking about making the shower a closet that opens from the room. We are going to use the room for a pool table so we don't need the shower. But, if we have to resale would people prefer a shower?

I would probably prefer keeping the shower even if it almost never gets used b/c it would make the bonus room more attractive as a guest room. Kind of depends tho on how far away the nearest bathroom with a shower would be if you took it out.

NEVER lose a bathroom. It lowers your value. And builders these days need all the help they can get in getting an appraisal be anywhere close to what it costs to build.

The closest shower is at the bottom of the stairs of the bonus room. Livewireoak, I'm not talking about taking out bathroom just illuminate the shower.

It's not a "bathroom" without a shower or tub. It's only a half bath. That doesn't appraise the same.
