Window help please

I'm not sure what to do about our windows. We have nice views to the right (if you're looking at the front of the house) and rear of the house. Our original idea was to use casement windows because we thought those would be least disruptive to the view (no horizontal line as double-hung windows would have).

I posted our original elevation a week or two ago for feedback, and one of the comments was that the casement windows didn't match the style of the house, and that we needed divided panes. We've also found that we can knock about $40,000 off the cost of the house if we switch to double hung windows instead of casements.

I'm posting our revised front elevation below (I Photoshopped grids just to get an idea of what it might look like). What type of windows do you think would look best, and what pattern should we use for the divided lites? Is it possible to mix different types of windows, and have casements in some places and double hung windows in others (I know it's possible,but would it look weird? I've never noticed if other people do this.) Thoughts?

I don't know what was said in the last thread, but I can tell you that I love our casements due to energy efficiency. Not only do they seal up tighter than double hungs to keep the house warm in winter, but they act like fins on the house in the summer and capture every nearby breeze and blow it through the house, keeping our need for A/C down to a few days of the year. You can get grids or muntins in casements just as you can in double hungs. Ours have the muntins in the front....

Have you considered casements without divided lights? It would not only save you money but will give you a better view. Casements also allow for greater ventilation. We just made that decision ourselves, choosing to keep divided lights only in a few key windows to maintain the "look" but the majority are not divided. The style of your beautiful house is enough to hold the architectural integrity on its own so photoshop the grids out and see what you think!

Thanks for the feedback. Annie, energy efficiency was one of the things that attracted us to casements.

Cielo, casements without divided lites is what was originally drawn on the house. Commenters in another thread said we needed divided lites. Are you happy with the way your windows look with some having divided lites and some note?

On another note, can I mix casements and double hungs? There are a few rooms where we'd like to maximize the views, and I think casements would be better if we don't use grids. If we're going to have grids, I don't know if it matters.
