DIY hide-a-hose

I'm curious if anyone has installed a HAH themselves? If so, what side did you purchase materials from?

Also, I remember a thread that talked about another hose-free option (or at least a lugging the hose around the hose free option). Does anyone know what that was?

See if you can find david_cary on the forum. He installed himself. Good luck!

I'm getting a Doc-It system---very similar to Hide-a-hose. The entire hose retracts into a rectangular box in the framing (not into the vacuum pipes themselves). It also uses electric power to retract the hose instead of the suction power of the vacuum engine.

We aren't DIY'ing though. We are having it installed. And you have to put the hose storage boxes in right after framing and while they are doing electric so they can make sure there is wiring run to them.
