We have a Dakota WR-3000 wireless system which has been serving us well for more than 5 years, IIRC. This is a retrofit system, for places where you do not have power, so it may not be what you are looking for. The sensors are battery powered (we have four sensors, one on the driveway, three surrounding the house). The batteries seldom need replacement (as I recall, they are D-cells) and work well even in New England winters. The receivers are plug-in. It was extremely easy to install.

One caveat, and I think it may be true of most alarm systems: On windy days, the shaking foliage can trigger false alarms.

We are using the Dakota WR3000 system with one hard wired vehicle sensor. This does not detect people or animals, just vehicles. It has worked well for the past 5 years. Our sensor is under the driveway and the transmitter is about 500 feet from the receiver.
The only time it falses is when we have a power-cut and when the power comes on it triggers the receiver. This is annoying since we have a lot of brief power interruptions. I guess it could be connected to a UPS to overcome this.
As far as high quality goes, all the alarms seem to be a bit primitive but that is the nature of a product designed for a limited market.
