Are there any drawbacks to using this type of rosette?

Thanks, everyone, for letting me know the Georgian hardware was smaller than what I'd been looking at. I found a knob I like, but this rosette is the only one I've found without visible screws. Are these a problem in the long-term function-wise?

Baldwin and Omnia make unlacquered brass rosettes without visible screws and have lots of different styles - beaded, simple, etc.

I don't know what style knobs you are looking for, but Emtek offers concealed fasteners.

I can't think of any.
