I'm right there with ya! :) In our current house all of our appliances are by different companies because we purchased based on consumer reports rankings, and while one company rocks at the dishwasher, a different one had good fridge reviews.

I'm not willing to compromise on functionality/reliability, but I was willing to compromise on having everything be matchy matchy.

No Tanya. You need to get what you like. A manufacturer that good at one thing may not be good at another. I'd say most people don't do a builders package of appliances anymore.
