How to store bricks for future project?

We have three 'cubes ' of bricks leftover from our house and hope to use them for a patio surround within the next few years, They were off loaded to a pasture slope, so are not contained by the metal bands. Any suggestions that worked for you? We live in the country and could store them outdoors, rather than in the barn.

How hard are they?

If you live in a place that gets freezing weather will they survive repeated freezing?

Most modern bricks are just fine sitting exposed to the elements since all faces are weatherproof.

Zone 6b-rare snow accumulation. Should have mentioned that I am most concerned as to what is the best base for these to 'sit' on. I will place weed proof material under all brick stacks.

We had a pallet or two of leftover bricks. We've used some for other projects. The rest have been sitting on the original wood pallets they came in on. Could you try to find a few used pallets and restack them?
