what building stuff have you got off of craigslist?

I've purchased two fireplaces from CL. I have three in my house. I'm looking for the last one from there as well.

Both are new, never installed, but have sat around for a few years when the owner didn't get around to installing then decided to sell.

One was over 3K new, I got it for $300. The other was probably around 1500 new, I got it for $50. dirty as hell, but nothing a little windex and dyson hand vac can't take care of!

I'm saving thousands of dollars using CL and Habitat ReStore for stuff! Anyone else doing this?

Yep!!!
Exterior door.
Sink on craigslist.
Downdraft pop up vent.
Kitchen cabinets from restore. 1200 (kitchen quote was 15,000 )
Kitchen range. And microwave 800
Claw foot tub 70$ near perfect condition (it had been walked off years ago and during a rehab it was found)

I would have refurbished interior wood doors and searched forever... It didn't pan out.

Totally worth it. Love the deals

I'm on craigslist all the time. I mostly shop for tools for our DIY build, but have gotten some materials as well.

Tools include a fiber cement siding shear, cordless tool batteries, a cement mixer, and a generator.

Building materials include all of our Hardi siding and trim, and ten matching antique 5 panel doors.

I also shop ebay, and have bought 9 antique light fixtures, and all of our vintage pulls for the kitchen drawers.
