Can't be of much help estimating costs, but if you like that architect, here is a link another house plan I think he designed. Also 4 bedrooms, only a tiny bit deeper, slightly smaller, looks like a simpler build -- that might help with costs?

One thing on costs, it likely would save you $$$ to change the folding doors to the porch to french doors or sliders. Also depending on where you are in California, that change might save you $$ on structural engineering/framing requirements.

Thanks Oaktown! We did see that other house plan and loved it.... but our lot won't accommodate it. We need something with a depth of less than 38 ft. Very skinny. :)

Hi morselofjoy! It's a cute plan isn't it?! Since we've chosen a more "build friendly" lot with lots of open space, room for a garden, orchards, etc., we are designing a house that spreads out a bit more to take advantage of the views. But we started with this as inspiration, and it's morphed into something with alot more porch space and an entirely different floor plan. Too many gardenweb and pinterest ideas going through my head I think. I can't wait to see your house built out!! If you have a pinterest board I hope you will post it here so we can follow it. ;)
