HVAC designer/consultant

We are currently working with our architect on the hvac design for a 2 story plus basement 3500 sq ft home in Chicago. We are seriously considering radiant floor heat throughout with supplemental forced air but are getting a lot of contradictory information on the advantages/disadvantages.

Does anyone have suggestions on obtaining an experts advice? Also any personal experience you cans hare would be appreciated.

We also considered radiant heat. My husband was determined to have it. We found out that it was going to cost at least 40k to install. Plus we still would need hvac etc for AC in Summer- so another ? 5k??? . We decided to go with Geothermal because it costs about 30k but then with tax credit come to 20k- and you are using same basic system for AC and heat. We live in Missouri so our winters aren't as bad as yours.
