"Faux Rock Choices"

Looking to cover my a-frame (prow) with some rock this summer, but my build is almost finished and I'm trying to keep the budget relatively tight (went about $10k over budget, which I'm thrilled with the choice to do so because I'm happy with the improvements, but now I need to claw back somewhere).

I wanted to cover the area with a stacked stone, and was wondering if there were any suggestions for stacked stone panels or products, that are relatively inexpensive, light and easy to work with?? I'd need to have most products shipped because I have limited suppliers where I am, so real stone is likely not an option.

Keeping in mind that there are a LOT of really big windows and very little actual wall space that needs to be covered, so I don't want something that's really difficult to cut and trim in size...

I have seen a few nice looking fireplace coverups that turned out great with Lowe's Airstone. My old neighbor used it and he was not all that handy and reported it was easy to fit and trim. No experience with the other stuff you posted.

What dimensions are you talking about for the little bit of wall? Some of these may look funny cut down too small.

We are using a stacked stone from Lowe's for our fireplace and I know xc60 has used it before also. They posted pics on the build forum when I was discussing it - maybe the Jan thread? Anyhow we haven't started yet but it looks very easy to do. We have a wet saw and should have no problem cutting.

I personally do not like the faux rock look. But there are *real* stacked stone veneers that are cheap, light and feasible to ship:

I used the Golden Harvest Slate ledger for my bathroom. It is super easy to cut and install (wet tile saw and I used a polyurethane construction adhesive so no mixing mortar).
