A second spray foam insulation question

Posted by dirtslinger2 (My Page) on

The other half of my question- of the two contractors I have spoken to- one is selling a foam that allows leakage to drip straight into the house "so you know where roof leaks are", while the other has waterproof foam that wicks water into the soffiting.

Does one actually make more sense?
The roofer like the wicking to soffit method- possibly because roof leaks will go unnoticed until the warranty is up and the wood sheathing rots out???

OK- thanks again.

RE: A second spray foam insulation question

It would help to know know the materials rather than the contractor claims. If one is closed cell foam and the other is open cell foam the difference in cost should be considerable.
