Knobs and pulls.

Anyone have some good suggestions of brands etc?

I don't have time to drive around and look. The builder suggested I find something I like and our kitchen designer should be able to get them or something similar at a better price. Googling knobs and pulls brings up so many results it's daunting. If someone could direct to some companies with nice products that would be great. I have simple tastes - I want plain knobs and a few pulls. I am thinking of doing some glass knobs on a couple of cabinets - maybe just the glass fronted ones, otherwise I like stain nickel or pewter. My kitchen faucet is oil rubbed bronze. My light fixtures are dark also. Cabinets are frost glazed birch ( cream colored) and dark dark oak. Dark pulls/knobs wouldn't work with oak. I have two rooms to do- also the clutter room- cabinets are white, I am thinking dark knobs might look really good there...

Any good sites or pics appreciated.

Amerock seems to have a nice selection and reasonable prices.

The glass knobs look great, however, in a kitchen I wish I had stuck with glass or crystal pulls that are curved so nothing sticks out. The glass knobs seem to catch on things --cords, etc. I have maple cabinets and they do look nice.

I looked and looked at knobs and pulls for months. It kept me up at night, seriously. Such a small little thing, you would think it would be easy to choose. But like you said, when you google them, there are soooo many.

Do you have a budget in mind? We also went with Amerock and I thought they were really nice for the money. Another good reasonable brand is Top Knobs. Sometimes scrolling through the Finished Kitchens blog will help although they are hard to see in many of the photos. I also got lots of inspiration from going through new open homes.

Have you looked through the Finished Kitchen Blog? Lots of pictures and information. It helps me to see the finished product and not just knobs and pulls in a showroom or catalog.

Check out www.lockhouse.com . I purchased all my house's knobs, pulls and door hardware. I think their selection is nice without being overwhelming. Their prices were great and dealing with their customer service was easy.
I will look there first again.

Is there an Expo Design Center near you? I too was daunted by what's online but didn't want to drive all over either. There's an Expo near me and they had a HUGE variety of knobs and pulls that you could see and touch. Although overall it's an upscale store, there was a wide variety of price ranges on the pulls and knobs. Something to consider.

I used an Ebay store Bluebird Books and Knobs. I received the hardware in only a couple days, the quality is very nice and heavy, prices are quite reasonable. When I got the shipment I counted them all and realized I was short 2. They immediately answered my email saying they would send them out the next day. There are many ebay sellers with a variety of knobs. I would suggest ordering just one of each of the ones you like first just to see if it's what you were expecting before placing a big order.
