Building a Home

Entry foyer size

Would 5 feet deep and 10 feet wide be a good size entry foyer? I would want closets on one side and a entry table with windows on the other. There would be a 3 or 4 foot opening in to the home opposite the front door. I don't particularly want to be wider than 10 feet but would be open to adding some depth.

Make a mockup of it ... mark out the elements you want with tape on the floor or the driveway. Stack some boxes to represent the walls.

Does it all fit?

Are you bumping into walls when you use the closets?

Does the door have room to swing open?

Good idea! I would think the door would have room since it would swing 3 feet but It may not leave much standing room for who's inside.
