I know when I had mine installed, they said that because the tank wouldn't get sufficient useage for the bacteria needed to grow, that I shouldn't connect it to my septic field until springtime (warm weather). Installing the tank, they had to dig a huge hole which is typically nice to have dry soil for, as soft soil when digging that close to the house increases the risk of causing damage to the foundation. The last thing in just getting the depth and placement right in wet and soft ground. It holds an awful lot of weight and you wouldn't want it sinking down into the soil after you start filling it up.

I've been reading that spring is more ideal. Im trying to figure out why he didn't install ours in the fall when ours neighbors got theirs put in by him.

Well, FWIW - ours was put in right before xmas, snowing to beat the band. I'll let you know how it works out but they were not concerned???

We were told they preferred to wait until spring for ours. And, said it would be one of the last things done. So, spring for us.

October for us, right after the foundation was dug.

Oh really? It would make sense timeframe wise if he did it in early fall so he could stay on schedule.

friends had theirs dug the first week in Jan. living in south
east texas, it's hard to get nice dry conditions (unless we're in a drought) septic tanks here are mostly aerobic type
