whole house water filters

We are currently looking into whole house water filters for our new build and I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with them. I've been trying to compare them online, but I just can't wrap my head around their differences and which one would be best. We don't need a water softener as our water is pretty good, it just needs to be filtered as it has a taste.

We're building roughly 5200 sq ft with 4 1/2 baths and two kitchens (there's an in-law apt) and a rough in for an eventual 5th bathroom...and we're on septic if that matters.

I would not be advising on filtration until you test the water and share the source for concerns as to why you need filtration.

1) You water source is well/municipal.

2) Concern is IRON / Bacteria / Corine / fertilizers / etc.

we have municipal water...and honestly, our water is pretty good it just has a taste...we bought a fridge that doesn't have a filter in it and I'll have an ice maker....so that's two spots in my house I want filtered water...then there's the apartment and my mom wants filtered drinking water as well..so we were thinking a whole house filter would be a good choice.

I'd like to follow this, we're going to be looking at whole-house filtration. Our area is VERY high iron, as well as arsenic, and other undesirables.

I recently skimmed an article about water evaporating from toilets and showers that may be leaving chemicals in the house-is that a thing?! Geezum. I buried my head in the ground and moved on!

We are concerned about sprinklers leaving rust stains on the house and lawn furniture, mineral deposits in the house, and the possibility of chemicals leaching into the house.
