Quite OT; Dormitory Architecture

I have an kind of open-ended question for the professionals on the forum or anyone by chance with any insight.

One of our kids attends a k-12 school that used to offer boarding, but razed the dorms 20 yrs ago. It is a 100+yr old school, rather quaint, organized around a quad. There is plentiful land. Demand for boarding high schoolers is back, due to international students and possible local demand for 5-day boarding. My DH has volunteered to study the issue of building new dorms. Of course, professionals will be involved but not yet at the brainstorming stage.

We are talking relatively small, maybe 50 students. Where would you go to learn about the latest trends in dormitory design? In an ideal world, if possible, you want flexible buildings that could be converted to faculty housing or even classrooms if needs change over time, I suppose. Green would be nice, but cost is an issue.

Any ideas are much appreciated, thank you.
