Hi Everyone, this is my first time using the forum. My husband and I are building a new home and many questions seem to come up during the process. We own our property that the house is being built on. The building house price without property is appx. $390,000. We went to pick out our cabinets and realized the allowance for just the kitchen cabinets (kraftmaid painted maple) was for $6,800. Unfortunately, we did not know the allowance walking into the supplier, this was not revealed on our contract only maple painted kraftmaid cabinets. The kitchen we priced out was appx. $15,000 leaving us with a variance of appx. $8, 200. The allowance seems significantly low to us. I just wondered what other home builders experiences are with kitchen cabinets and any advice on a realistic allowance would be great. Thank you for your anticipated guidance.
