Sugar Free Drinks??

I have recently been diagnosed with low blood sugar and therefore have to avoid drinks with sugars. I know diet pop of all sorts are suagr free but can't stand the after taste. Anyone know of anything else (with a sweet taste) available on the market?

Good ol' Wal Mart has flavored bottled water called Free and Clear that I drink. Its sugar free and caffine free and comes in 15 or so flavors. They are 58 cents each.

I was diagnosed with low blood sugar (20 years ago) when I was pregnant with my son. I didn't like the taste of diet soda so I would mix diet gingerale or sprite with orange or grapefruit juice. (I wasn't a big fan of juice either) You might try this. Thankfully over the years I developed a taste for diet pepsi.

I am not sure what to tell you. I have never drank alot of soda in my life but it was enough not to be good for me, I just cold turkeyed it and got off. But I was not addicted. Maybe if you can find something else to drink and start replacing whatever it is with one of your cokes a day for a week then two the next week and do it that way. How about iced tea?? Crystal Lite makes good sugar free drinks. I love water that is my favorite thing to drink, you do need to drink more water. All diets tell you to drink lots of water, I notice more weight loss and less headaches when I drink alot of water.

With liquor: I used to prefer Gin & Tonic, but lately the acidity has been bothering my stomach unless I eat snacks with it . . . which is definitely adding too many calories (LOL!). I've switched to Mojitos or a nice chilled prosecco. Without liquor: I LOVE ice water and that's usually what I drink throughout the day. I love lemonade, too, but try not to indulge very often because of all the calories. Lately, I've been making agua frescas in my blender. Yesterday I made a batch using pureed cucumber with a little fresh mint and a splash of honey. I find it very refreshing. My favorites so far, though, are the ones I make with watermelon or strawberries. Because I'm deathly allergic to the artificial sweeter aspertame/aspartamine, I steer clear of a lot of the store-bought drinks :~ ( I know that there are some new artificial sweeteners out there, but have been afraid to try them. I wouldn't chance having another reaction like that even if I was sitting in an ER exam room! Lynn

As 1tcollins1949 said stevia has been used for a sweetener for years. I can get it from the bulk food store near me but there are a number of places that carry it. It is mainly marketed for diet use and as a good alternative for diabetics. It comes from a plant leaf. Although the recipe didn't say so, I believe you would add the above recipe mixture to the carbonated or sparkling water in whatever concentration you found was to your taste. Karen
