Here are my favorites: Zucchini Bread This is one of the ways to take a perfectly healthy vegetable and make it edible. My favorite zucchini bread recipe comes from The Taste of Appalachia by Lyn Kellner. Makes 2 loaves. Ingredients 3 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 2 ½ teaspoons cinnamon 3 eggs 2 cups sugar 1 cup vegetable oil 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 cups grated raw zucchini (or summer squash) 1 cup chopped pecans Mix first four ingredients in a bowl. In a large bowl, beat eggs well, then add sugar, oil, and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Stir in zucchini. Add dry ingredients and the pecans and stir until moistened. Put the batter in two well greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pans and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Let cool 10 minutes and remove from pan. Zucchini Bread This is a little more work than the quick version. In the heart of zucchini season, youÂll enjoy this bread fro a change. This recipe is adapted from a Taste of Home flyer. Makes 1 loaf. 1 tablespoon dry active yeast ½ cup warm water â cup warm milk â cup sugar 3 tablespoons butter, softened 2 tablespoons grated orange peel ½ teaspoon salt 1 ½ cups shredded zucchini â cup raisins ¾ cup whole wheat flour ¾ cup all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (or a blend of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and mace) 1 â to 2 â cups bread flour In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Beat in the milk, sugar, butter, and orange peel. Mix well. Add the zucchini, raisins whole wheat floor, all-purpose flour, salt and pumpkin pie spice. Add enough bread flour to form a soft dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface (5-10 minutes) until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 ½ hours). Punch down dough and shape into a loaf. Place into a greased 9x5x3 inch pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees F for 40 to 45 minutes.

I bought them directly from DWN. Just call their main number and you'll be able to talk to a salesman or woman. If I buy again I'll probably go thru the sales rep in Oklahoma. The salesperson I was working with in CA didn't have 30 seconds to discuss anything, give me your order and hang up please. January is when I got all my trees both here and when I lived in CA. I was thinking about doing a group buy with someone in CA. There are a couple of individuals there who might be able to help spread the trees out. If anyone has something they really want that I really want as well, I'd make it worth there while. Right now I don't have my eye on anything except possibly the really early low chill cherries of DWN. If anyone is really interested in the three pluot I bought last year, I might send a tree or two back to CA or elsewhere, if that's possible. Hey Linda, Here are a few: Vodka or Rum Slush (I like it with rum) Real Good! 1cup water 1cup sugar ( I only put 1/2 cup) 1 2 liter bottle of 7-up 46oz. can Pineapple Juice 6oz. can frozen Orange Juice 10oz. jar of cherries with juice 2 cups Rum or Vodka Mix and Freeze Whiskey Sour Slush 1/5 bourbon 3qts. Ginger Ale 1 lg. can Pineapple Juice 2 lg. cans frozen Orange Juice 4 oz. Real Lemon Juice Mix and Freeze Amaretta Slush (Real Good) 1 can Pineapple Juice (large) 3 cups Amaretta or Almond Favored liquer 1 6oz. can frozen lemonade or orange juice 1 3 liter Lemon Lime or Sprite Mix and Freeze Pina Colada Slush 1 can Pineapple Juice 2 12oz. cans frozen Lemonade 3 c. water 1 15oz. Creme Coconut 1 3liter Sprite, 7-up or Lemon Lime Mix and Freeze Margarita Slush (real good) 4 12oz. Frozen Limeade 3 qts. Water 3 cups Triple Sec or other orange flavored liquer 3 cups Tiquila 2 (2liter) Sprite, Lemon Lime or 7-Up Mix and Freeze Of course, this is not enough for that many people,but you would have to make enough accordingly. Beyond that.. It's not that Euro Persil, is too expensive. It's just that for most of us.. it's unfeasible to use for everyday laundry. It's also got a steep price tag, and for most... it's hard to dedicate $40 to something, you may just not like. I have bottles of Persil Gel & MegaPerls, from over two years ago! I've very choosy, and try to only use it on loads of Laundry that really need it. And I kinda think, it's the same way for most of the Persil fans. A Bottle or Box of Tide is about $12, maybe $2-$3 if you really do well with Coupons. And it advertises about the same amount of loads, or uses as a box of Persil that costs $40. Obviously, I'm going to probably use the *cheaper* yet, effective option. I mean.. it'll get clothes almost, or exactly as clean.. if they aren't as soiled. Now of course, there's American Persil. And while not exactly the same.. it's a whole lot more affordable, and allows many more to *try* it, and see what they think. And I find that exciting :)
