| years ago we had a large pot with a water section underneath. Heated the water on the range and the steam heated up the grapes and other fruit in order to extract the juice. It worked very well, but it was slow. It made great grape and plum juice, but the apple juice was insipid for some reason. I have been trying to find something like this now and I can't. Does anyone here remember seeing anything like this? That juice would not be not enough to be considered pasteurized would it? I don't think so. |

| I think you are talking about making juice for canning not like in fresh juice form a juicer. Apple juice needs either unripe apples or some lemon...or the bacteria that allow it to ferment to taste good. |
