Need T & T Hot Buttered Rum Recipe

Posted by aka_Raeanne (My Page) on

I am looking for a hot buttered rum recipe that I can have simmering and just have ladle out. I don't want to have to mix each drink individually. Thanks for any help you can give me.

That's hard to do....as the butter will float and be hard to get some of each and the rum will boil off.
Best to make a batter of butter and brown sugar and the spices....have it in a bowl and a pot of water simmering on the stove. Put a scoop of the butter mix in a mug, add a shot of rum and fill with hot water.

OOOOH, I never thought about that. We are having a large crowd meet at my house tomorrow before going to dinner and I wanted to have something like that to offer them, but didn't want to make a fuss. Maybe I will just do a mulled cider type thing. Thanks so much.

:) if you set it up ahead of time, it doesn't need any more fuss than putting the kettle on.

use a spiced rum (pop a few cinnamon sticks in the bottle)

cream the butter and sugar together, pack them in an ice cube tray or candy mold, and freeze them. then it's the matter of a moment to decant them, and drop them into a cup of tea or hot rum :)
