Thanks for the link to the old gag gifts in the holiday forum - brings back memories... Lets see... I still make the Tampon Angels, the Exotic rubber plants, MP Slippers and I've added, Weiner Washers (just had to make 20 more last night) Willy Warmers, Just Blow Whistle (a senior citizen alarm), PPTPs, Redneck Palm Pilot, Redneck Earrings... They're beautiful. Giving me the start of an idea for something else small, numerous and a bit awkward that I need to find a solution for. I once fell in love with a beautiful handcrafted jewelry box but decided not to get it because it seemed like it would be such a sitting duck right on top of my dresser. Sad that we have to factor such things into our decisions.

Ok, another thought. I forgot I did this not too long ago. I have a space in an antique mall, all stuff for women, so dresser trays, usually mirrored, are something I carry. I had a vintage frame, but nothing in it. Using some pale blue toile fabric, I covered a piece of foamcore and used a thin piece of balsa wood on the backside to hold it in place, and painted it. I also gave the fabric 3 coats of poly, but you wouldn't have to do that. Using 1" beads, I added them as little 'feet', painting them first. You could go bigger if you wanted, and even use something like a cabinet knob. The possibilities are endless!

Here in Birmingham each Saturday morning we have an event called Pepper Place. There are local farmers selling home-grown vegetables, baked goods, local honey, etc... They also have a different chef each week doing a cooking demonstration. It's wonderful - no tube socks. And I did go to the world's longest yard sale again this year and it's the best. I didn't see any tube socks but I did see a whole lotta junk. But that doesn't scare me - I like a challenge. I bought three antique mirrors for a collection I have, several pieces of green depression glassware, four antique rhinestone pins among other things. My MIL collects McCoy pottery and she found six or seven pieces. We ran into the HGTV film crew in Clarkrange, Tennessee as they were filming for their special this year. The funniest thing we saw on our trip was a white stretch limo coming down the two-lane road pulling a U-haul trailer. Where on earth could they park it?
