While chi is a good one GHD is far better, i have one and can flat iron any type of hair!!!! Plus the plates rotate and swivel so you can also curl your hair too. They run about 200.00 however they come with a one year warrenty, If the temp goes above or below 374 it will turn it self off! That is cause 374 is the best temp for hair anything else is either too hot or not hot enough.

Yes and no. I had a CHI (not adjustable temp) for a long time and really liked it. Of course, it died the day my hair was cut to a pixie. I needed another flat iron - right - now - and the closest stores didn't have high end ones so I grabbed an Andis 1" ceramic iron. It's adjustable temp (I leave it on high and my hair isn't damanged, ymmv) and the same size as my CHI. I figured if it was terrible I'd replace it. It works the same and is great. No need to buy something more expensive. That said, my sister has a inexpensive flat iron, adjustable heat and all, I think is terrible. (Con Air I believe) If what you're doing works for you, why did you want to switch? Were you looking for something faster? I use mousse on my hair, but I can get it to curl without while using a flat iron. For the look I want, the hold is better with product. I currently curl my hair with one. one I have - Andis 1" Joanie - You can actually straighten or curl your hair with one. If your hair is longer it gives a different look than a curling iron.

I'm 45, and to have someone more than 20 years my junior give me a compliment--trained or not!--made my day. Yes, I'm both vain like that and appreciative that, at my age, I still have some flair. Call it messy. For me, it's easy and makes me feel good. I'll take it!

My Rusk arrived yesterday and I used it for the first time this morning. I think it's too soon for me to give it a complete review. However, two people remarked on how beautiful my hair looks today! One person I know and someone I don't. So there's that. Despite my best efforts I have good and bad hair days for no obvious reason, so it could just be one of those days. To complicate matters, I started using a mousse, which I never did before (Joico Joiwhip, #1 in a recent mousse report). I think the mousse might be adding to my hair's new likability. The cord is VERY long (8 ft.). I guess that's great if you want to go for a stroll while drying your hair. One thing I notice is the hot is really freaking hot, so I switch back and forth between warm and hot. My limited used of a round brush seems to have more "take" than with my old dryer, i.e., a short blast of hot air sets better. Totally unscientific observation. Today I was in Costco and stumbled upon a Conair InfinitiPro (ionic) for $19.99. I bought it, because sometimes I don't know when to stop. I can always return it, whenever.
