My digi camera is dead, so I can't post, but I'll describe what I have. Backstory: In my old house, we converted a small bedroom next to the master BR into a walk-in closet. The regular closet in this bedroom became my make-up area. We put a large tri-fold mirrored medicine chest on the back wall and some shelves on each side. I thought it was the perfect setup, so when we built the new house, we reproduced it, but in the master bedroom instead of the closet. It has extra plugs for curling irons, etc. and plenty of room for make-up, hair fixing, jewelry storage, etc. We added bi-fold doors so I can hide it if it's not tidy. Perfect! We've now sold this house and are building again. The same set-up will be in my walk-in closet again. Obviously, I find a make-up table very useful!!

ok, I'll be less cryptic. 1st, I'm no expert. 2nd, I do know that an equal amount of air has to come inside as goes out the vent hole. 3rd, it seems you are in a climate that makes you want not to lose the conditioned air (which is understandable to me). 4th, I would arrange for an equal amount of unconditioned air to be pumped inside and sent to a grid rimming around the cooktop or range, and let that air be "the chosen" air to be pumped out of the house. This is because I always feel comfortable building my own apparatus to achieve my goal. If you are the same, and you make your own air curtain, in so doing you isolate the rest of the kitchen from the fine grease particulate matter that spreads everywhere whenever a bit of grilled salmon smoke rises up and escapes the hood canopy capture area. An air curtain curtails air movement. It directs the rising steam and grease particles to continue rising in a straight line to the canopy. You create a stream. You pull air in and you pull air out. One motor (blower) for each. The unconditioned air makes a funnel around the cooking surface and channels rising air to follow it to the hood canopy area and get pulled out of the house. Without this channel, the air that gets pulled out of the house can come from any direction and that lets rising steam and grease rise up and slip away in the opposite direction. Very disorganized. I guess the bench versus vanity is a matter of preference. i am hesitant to change the door between the bath and the room as it would be rarely used. in my first layout posted, I did draw the door swings incorrectly, so I fixed those here. i will definitely try to do the shower now hearing all of your thoughts on that. it depends on what quote we get. we do want to save most of our budget for the master bath remodel. what do you think if I demo the linen closet, shift the vanity down and put in a linen cabinet? it would eliminate one door anyway. something like this? i think that might give a bit more open feel in there and still allow a bit more privacy at the toilet area.

Hi Patricia, Thank you kindly for your insights. I greatly appreciate it! I see what you’re saying & definitely agree— too many little things. The closet off to the side is where I store some of my clothes. There are 2 racks in there. The rest are stored in my bedroom closet. That closet also stores my “stuff” (suitcases, boxes, travel stuff, art stuff, work stuff, sneakers/flip-flops, etc.), so it gets its use. The low white chest by the door actually conceals my two kitty litter boxes LOL. There is no other place in my apartment that will fit them (trust me, I’ve looked, & also looked at other concealing furniture). I definitely want to cover them & that wall is the only place they work. I’m having trouble finding a way to decorate the wall above it, however. Especially with the ugly sconce stuck off-center on the wall. I will definitely add a full-length mirror to the closet door, so thank you! I use my makeup table every day but it is definitely overly cluttered. :/ Thank you for your insights on the lighting as well! Unfortunately, the only lighting this room comes with are the wall sconce & the window. As a renter, I’m not permitted to install new lighting. I actually purchased the chandelier last year & had it re-wired to be plugged in to the wall to abide by my lease. I think a track lighting system would be off-limits as per my lease (oh, the downfalls of renting...). One thing I am permitted to do is paint the room which I did when I moved in. It was previously white. Do you think I should paint it a different shade to brighten it up since I am stuck on lighting? Thank you again for taking the time to review my room & provide insights.
