| There have been a few other forums on GW that I frequent that were starting to be inundated with spam. Several posters reported the issue to the powers that be and they got the spam issue under control and began patrolling them better. It's very easy. Go to the bottom of the page and click "Letters and Comments". Fill out the pertinent info, choosing "report of abuse of forums" from the drop down list. It certainly can't hurt and has in many cases helped.

| I report blatant spam; the beauty and fashion is particularly targeted by spammers, it's a real pain . IVillage does a pretty good job of removing them. |

| "Contact Us" on the green GardenWeb bar at the bottom of the page is where I have clicked to report spam. As Val says, it's important to choose "Abuse of Forums" from the drop-down list before you write your message. Otherwise they will ignore it. Also, putting the subject line or URL of the post helps things move faster. I've had good luck getting spam removed that way, though it may take a couple of complaints and a couple of days for them to respond. |
