boyfriends receding hairline, what to do?

Hello. My boyfriend is 23 and has a full head of hair on top, but it is receding in the front. He is very self conscious. I was going to get some Rogain, but it isn't for frontal baldness. He's tried Nioxin, Rejuvxx, and Procerin to no avail. Is there something that works on frontal hair loss besides surgery? Are there any foods that help with this... any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have him ask his doctor about Propecia. I know two men who have been taking it with very good success in filling in that receding front hairline!

There is a great book I'm reading called "Body Reflexology", (can be found at Amazon) it mentions message techniques, herbal remedies, etc. I myself have hair that doesn't grow far past my shoulders and with certain messaging around my head now my hair's growing faster and longer. I believe a lot of the book's techniques work, bonus is that it's all natural.

Well, I'm glad that it's your own guilt that's making you secretive, and not a fear of your husband's anger... you had me wondering for a bit... In other news, I AM WALKING. Well, sort of. Hobbling is more like it. But, heck, I'm mobile - however slowly, swollenly, and uncomfortably. I'm even going to try to get out to see Al Gore's movie tomorrow night. I'm a wild woman! I had to reschedule my Moonlight & Margaritas Prom Party until mid-August. I'm a bit disappointed - Canada Day would have been perfect, but I'll still be in a cast. Not only would it be a huge hassle to organize a party while in a cast, but I wouldn't be able to wear kicky shoes! What's the point of a Prom Party without kicky shoes, I ask you? I get the other foot done on Sept 13. I learned a lot from this past experience, so I think that getting it done the second time will be significantly easier. For instance, I had *no clue* that I was supposed to start putting weight on my foot about a week after the surgery. Two weeks after surgery, I went for a post-op check up with my surgeon, and she was shocked that I wasn't walking without crutches yet. I hadn't even begun to put my foot flat on the floor at that point. But once I started to put weight on it, things progressed pretty quickly. Today, I'm finishing week three, and can hobble around without crutches. I'm pretty proud of myself :)

Thank you all. This is helpful. There's always something to learn. I looked up some of the sports of August Moon, and although there aren't any in the list I found and used that look exactly like what I remember of the greener one on the left, now I have something to look forward to and think about and compare when they bloom. It's good to know that some hostas do this mutation thing. I haven't really given much thought to my two (three) hostas, they were an impulse buy that some years look gorgeous-as long as we don't get hail!

WELCOME LITEREADER!!!! Another NJ watcher here.....I don't watch the others you mentioned but guess I could try.....Now i have to say I have caught episodes of OC and NY but I DON'T MISS NJ!!! I love love love them and Jackie and Theresa and Dina are my favs.....call me crazy I know.....I love Caroline and I so wish Danielle would get help for her sex addiction and for her need to find a man to help her and her girls...she says she used to be a model (can't see it but hey you never really know) so go back to modeling make a life for you andyour girls and show them you don't need a man to support you and make you happy...when she went out with "steve" that one night her daughters sitting at the top of the stairs and her oldest looked soooo sad it broke my heart.....get a life stop telling your daughters about your life (and they will see the show so stop telling us) and fix yourself and be a mom to your kids....whew that has been brewing in me since last night...I was already to post on here and wham huge stormm lost power from 5 til 11 so no posting or reading their blogs..yes I read the Jerseys blogs even that is how much I love it... I have seen the commercial for Southern Belles but never noted when it was on...but going to that link also.... Bald is bald, in back, in front, on top, wherever. Many males (I'd say much more than half) are overly self-conscious and even emotionally unhappy when clearings and meadows develop on an otherwise well-forested head. They take to wearing hats even when not necessary as a sun shield. The close-cropped or shaved head is an accepted and chosen style and a way to de-emphacize the distinction between where it is and where it isn't. Maybe it's a macho identity thing, I don't know. Ever notice how many bald/balding men decide to grow beards? "See, look at me, I can grow hair!" It's just like short guys who go to the gym to pump iron because they may feel masculinely inadequate without having big biceps and tight abs. I speak from personal experience. My top of the head baldness started in my 40s but it's never bothered or concerned me a bit. When asked, I've always said the hair got burned off from the heat generated by my deep thinking.

I was losing a lot of hair for the past eight months and I looked into many different causes - food allergies, stress, hormones, etc so I did my best to modify and with not much luck so I started looking at the ingredients in my shampoo. In my case I was also getting dermatitis. Anyways, I changed my cleansing habits. I apply coconut oil or castor oil to my scalp and massage my scalp and keep it on overnight. I also started to use Dr. Bronner's soaps (which I love, love, love now) on my face and in place of shampoo. It's pretty strong and leaves a build up so usually wash my hair again with an organic shampoo (no parabens or SLS - I think SLS is the biggest culprit with me) and just condition the ends of my hair and don't let any get onto my scalp. I think I am sensitive to a lot of products and they really clog my pores. My moisturizer is plain old coconut oil and Penaten (diaper cream) for any blemishes I may get. I used to lose handfuls of hair in the bath/shower and then more when I dried my hair and now I love 5-10 hairs max since changing my routine. All the hair I lost is coming back too!
